Obituary for Harold Plummer

Harold Plummer, 84, a lifelong resident of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away at his home on October 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born December 20, 1937, on the family farm 2 miles north of Dryden Cemetery in Harmon County, Oklahoma to Dallas Sedric "Sid" and Stella Mae Plummer. He was raised and educated in Hollis, Oklahoma and graduated from Hollis High School in 1956. He attended two years of college at Southwestern State College in Weatherford OK. Harold proudly served his country and state in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1956-1962.

In 1959 Harold was united in marriage to Vicki Gregory at the First Baptist Church of Hollis, Oklahoma. Harold and Vicki were blessed with two sons, Harold Brett and Bart Mack.

In 1961 Harold began working for Public Service Company of OK. This career would take the Plummer family across southwest Oklahoma. He worked in Hollis, Lawton, and Hobart as the assistant manager, before returning to Hollis as the manager. In 1971, Harold retired from Public Service after seventeen years so he could pursue his lifelong passion to work full-time as a farmer and rancher.

Serving the Harmon County community was an important part of Harold's life. He was active in many groups and boards. He was a member of the Lions Club, served as a board member of Harmon County CO-OP and Farmer's Home Administration. He was a member of the Hollis Masonic Lodge and a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Harold was a proud follower of Jesus Christ and his faith was an incredible part of what made him the man he was. He was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Hollis, and he enjoyed attending the Dodson Church of Christ.

When he wasn't busy with the farm and serving his community, he enjoyed playing dominoes, RVing, and being a gatekeeper at Canton Lake, where he enjoyed riding his moped. Most importantly he enjoyed being around his family.

His legacy of love and devotion to his community will be missed by his family and friends.

Greeting Harold at the gates of heaven were his Parents, Dallas "Sid" Sedric and Stella Mae, his Son, Harold Brett, and sister, Billie Sue Plummer Vaught.

Left to honor Harold's memory are his loving wife of sixty-three years, Vicki, son Bart Mack and wife Donna, grandchildren, Harold Keith and wife Charlcey, Tristan Richard and Halie, Shana Thompson and Te'Unah, two great-granddaughters, Helen and Hazel, other relatives and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dodson Church of Christ, 411 East Mulberry, Hollis, OK 73550.

The community is invited to a Celebration of Life service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the former Church of Christ FAC Building Hollis, Oklahoma.

Services have been entrusted to Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma
