Obituary for Henry Cecil Currey
Henry C. (H.C.) Currey, age 90, longtime Eldorado resident, passed away early Sunday morning, December 18, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
H.C. was born on June 20, 1915, in Eldorado, Oklahoma to John Henry and Alma (Lee) Currey. He married Ada Mae Robbins on August 17, 1935 in Eldorado. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1999.
H.C. was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and Eldorado where he farmed and was a member of the United Methodist Church. He served as the Eldorado Municipal Judge for many years. H.C. was also active on the Co-Op Board, the City Council and was an avid supporter of sports.
H.C. was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one granddaughter, Robyn Bridges on February 2, 1990.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Wefer and husband Don of Eldorado, Oklahoma, Tressa Weathers and husband Jim of Meridian, Mississippi; for grandchildren, Van Dale Brooks, Meridian, Mississippi, Donita Solis and husband Freddie, Lana Bridges and husband Don and Kristie Miller and husband Collins all of Eldorado, Oklahoma; one brother, Lee Currey and wife Elva of Paducah, Texas; 10 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and a host of many friends.
Grave side services for H.C. Currey will be Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 2:00pm at the Eldorado, Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
Mr. Curry will lie in state beginning at 4:00pm, Monday afternoon December 19, 2005, with the family greeting friends from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Eldorado, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Eldorado Athletic Department.
