Howard Harold Morris

Howard Harold Morris was born September 14, at Friendship, Oklahoma to John and Essie Dolan Morris. He died November 23, 1993 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Mr. Morris was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was a prominent businessman in Altus and owned and managed the Southwest Seed and Delinting Company and Morris Seed Cleaning. He had been the manager of a Cotton Gin in Altus for a few years before becoming involved in the car business. He had been the seed business since 1939 after he graduated from Victory High School. He married Johnnie Copeland October 22, 1939 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a member and Deacon in the Baptist Church moist of his life. Mr. Morris was a member of the original Jaycees and the original Gideons of Altus.

Services are scheduled for 2:00pm Saturday, November 27, 1993 in the Lowell-Tims Chapel. Rev. Hoyett Lemmon of Naples, Texas; a former pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Altus will be officiating. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Howard is survived by his mother, Essie Dolan of Altus, Oklahoma; wife Johnnie of Altus, Oklahoma; children, Cindy Santiago and John of Altus, Oklahoma; Nelda Beth McGee and Joe of Borger, Texas; brother Raymond Morris of Altus, Oklahoma; sisters, Nelda Mae Byrd of Altus, Oklahoma; Ruth Mason of Ely Nevada; three grandchildren, Robert Howard McGee of Moore, Oklahoma; natalie McGee of Borger, Texas; Jennifer Santiago of Altus, Oklahoma; one great-grandchild, Kaylee Brooke McGee of Moore, Oklahoma.

Howard was preceded in death by his father John Morris and one brother Earl Morris.
