Howard L. Nichols, Sr.


Howard L. Nichols, age 87, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 1997 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Howard was born September 2, 1909 at Whitesboro, Texas. He was the son of the late Jess L. Nichols and Mattie (Brewer) Nichols. On March 5, 1932 he and Lessie Catherine (Smith) Nichols were united i marriage at Altus, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 27, 1983. Howard was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. He was a retired Painting Contractor. Howard was a very dedicated family man.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton and Rev. Carl McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Dorothy Eley and husband Mell Dallas, Texas
Howard Nichols, Jr and Wife Linda Dallas, Texas

One Brother, Glen Nichols Odessa, Texas
One Sister, Mildred Greenough California

Eight Grandchildren, Barbara, Mike, Andy, Melinda, Mark, Rex, Guy, Gena

Fourteen Great-Grandchildren and a Host of Friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, His Wife, Lessie Catherine Nichols on January 27, 1983, Two Brothers, Harvey Nichols and James Rush. One Sister; Imogene Campbell.
