Obituary for Hugh Grylan Crowley
Hugh Grylan Crowley, 56, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.
Hugh was born October 11, 1954, in Knox City, Texas, to A.C. and Ginger Charlene (Jackson) Crowley. He attended Altus Schools and graduated in 1972. Hugh served his country in the United States Navy from 1972 to October 12, 1973. He married Vivian Jones January 24, 2000, in Lexington, Oklahoma. Hugh was a construction worker and loved his job as a painter and dry wall constructor. He was a skilled cook, a talented photographer, and a wonderful soloist who had recorded a variety of songs. Hugh also was skilled as a computer tech and gave back to others by serving as an AA Counselor. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Preceded in death by his father, A.C. Crowley on January 29, 2006, and his brother, Alfred Crowley in 1996, Hugh is survived by his wife, Vivian Crowley of Oklahoma City; his mother, Ginger Crowley of Altus; three children, Lakeisha Crowley of Maine, Melanie Harthorn of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Passion Harthorn of Tyler, Texas; three step-children, Sidney Myers and wife Shemeka, Clenita Islam and husband Shafeeq, and Amy Carter, all of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Barry Crowley and wife Renee of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kevin Crowley and wife Michelle of Altus, and Noel Crowley and wife Yolanda of Olympia, Washington; one sister, Rhonda Bonner of San Antonio, Texas; nineteen grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him very much.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 1, 2011, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with his uncle, Pastor Audrey Jackson of Midland, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
