Obituary for Hugh Oliver Bilbrey
Hugh Oliver Bilbrey was born July 9, 1916 at Rickman, Tennessee. He was the son of the late David and Bessie Bilbrey. He died May 16, 1995 at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. He came to Oklahoma in 1922 to the Victory Community. He attended and graduated from the school at Victory. He married Jewel H. Holley March 4, 1939 and she preceded him in death in February 1980. He married Roxie L. Tague December 13, 1980 at Norman, Oklahoma. Hugh was a veteran of World War II. He served in the European Theater, and was a participant in the D-Day Invasion of France, June 6, 1944 with 747th Tank Battalion of the 29th Infantry. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Disabled American Veterans, National Association of Rural Letter Carriers, Altus Masonic Lodge, and the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. He retired from the Postal Service in 1978, having served 30 years, serving Harmony, Olustee, Victory and the Arron Communities. Services are scheduled for 11 am Friday at the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ with Ed Lobaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery.

Survivors include wife Roxie Bilbrey ; children, Mark Bilbrey of Mustang, Oklahoma; Judy Turner of Norman, Oklahoma; Jan Bonds of Moore, Oklahoma; brothers, Robert Eck Bilbrey, sisters Beulah Stockton of Altus, Oklahoma; Pauline Neagle of Elephant Butte, New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, Greg Turner, Jerry Turner, Mea Bonds, Justin Bilbrey, Brad Bilbrey, Jeff Crawford, and Kaci Bilbrey. A number of Step Grandchildren, 3 step-children, Clara June Orr of Oklahoma City, Virgil Tague of Del City, Oklahoma, Larry Tague, of Memphis, Tennessee.

Preceded in death by hi parents, wife Jewell M. Bilbrey, 2-1-1980, 8 brothers and sisters.
