Obituary for Ila Morgan
Ila Morgan was born May 31, 1905 at Palmray, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Price and Millie (Tucker) Owen. She died May 12, 1998 at Owasso, Oklahoma. She married Jess Morgan December 14, 1927 in Seymour, TX and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a longtime resident of Altus and Jackson County having resided here over 61 years. She was a longtime and very active member of the First Baptist Church and was a member of WOW.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Frank of Altus, OK and Dortha Mills of Owasso, OK; one son, Harold Morgan of San Diego, CA; four sisters, Beatrice Murphy of Lamesa, TX, Jewel Conner of Star City, AR, Jessimine Tapscott and Shirley Conner, both of Hobbs, NM; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Morgan; her parents; five brothers; one sister, (Mrs. G.B. Ligon) and by one granddaughter, Lisa Rene Mills.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 1998 at the Altus Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
