Obituary for Inis Ethlyn Appleby
Inis Ethlyn Appleby, of 2120 Lee Dr., Altus, died this morning (Wednesday) at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services have been set for 4:00 Thursday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Pat Kennedy. Lowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be on Friday, 2:00 P.M. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, OK.
Born in Horatio, AR, she was married at Tulsa, OK on November 26, 1947 to William A. Appleby, Jr. who survives of the home. She was a graduate nurse at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, OK, served as a nurse Lieutenant JG, with the U.S. Navy in the states and at Southhampton England during WWII, her Navy tour extending from 1942 to 1947. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Lynn "Kathleen" Doughty of Oklahoma City; one son, Robert Appleby of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Roger Gore of Horatio, Arkansas and Anton Gore of Moses Lake, WA; five sisters, Clyta Tallman of Horatio, Arkansas, Doris Kitzman of The Hague, Netherlands, Shirley Gore of Oakland, CA, Vada McKittrick of Hot Springs, AR and Anita Keen of Spring, TX; three grandchildren.
