Obituary for Isabel C. Hardie
Isabel C. Hardie was born January 15, 1921 at Bryn Mawr, PA. She died January 6th, 1994 in Altus, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Alice Louise (Prince) and William Henry Coogan. She married Augustus Brunner Hardie August 16, 1945 in Bryn Mawr, PA and he preceded her in death December 21, 1980. She spent most of her life with her husband in the United States Air Force . They resided in Altus from 1959-1965 in the USAF, following retirement they moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee. She moved back to Altus in 1984 where she resided until her death. She was a member of St. Martins Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was an avid lover of nature and her love of flowers was evident.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Pate and Father Peter Cominos officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee with Father James Marquis also officiating. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include: two children, Margie VanOostrum of Altus and William "Bill" Hardie of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Richard Coogan and wife Jenny of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Helene Phelan of Almond, NY and An ne Catlin of Hoton, NY; six grandchildren, Amanda Van Oostrum of Edmond, OK, Andy, Amy and Allen Van Oostrum of Altus, OK and Dan and Mary Hardie of Jacksonville, FL; a brothers-in-law, David Hardie and Robert Hardie; sister-in-law, Ruth Hardie.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Brunner Hardie, Dec. 21, 1980; her parents; one sister, Alice Louise Coogan.
