Isabel Ruiz
Isabel Ruiz, age 78 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her residence in Altus.
Isabel was born in Kenedy, Texas on July 9, 1939 to her parents Andrew Rodriguez and Juanita (Lopez) Rodriguez. She grew up in West Texas and on April 18, 1957, she married the love of her life, Francisco Ruiz, in Hereford, Texas and they spent the next fifty-seven wonderful years together before his death in 2014. In 1963, they moved to southwest Oklahoma where Isabel took care of her family and has resided ever since. She was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and was the tortilla rolling champion for several years, and sewing, but most of all, Isabel treasured her family and especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Francisco Ruiz, Jr.; and Carlos Ruiz, Sr.; two brothers, Felix Rodriguez; and Andrew Rodriguez, Jr.; one sister, Sophia Rodriguez; and her great grandson, Angel Roblez, Jr.; Isabel is survived by two sons, Enrique Ruiz and wife Mary of Altus; and Michael Ruiz and wife Cathy of Altus; five daughters, Irene Roblez of Altus; Amelia Costner of Lone Wolf; Lupe Marquez of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Isabel Long of Altus; and Christina Ruiz of Altus; two brothers, Refugio Rodriguez of Texas; and Pascual Rodriguez of Altus; three sisters, Connie Ruiz and husband Ramiro of Texas; Janie Rodriguez of Texas; and Eufemia Delion of Arizona; twenty grandchildren and several great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Rosary services will be at 4:30 pm, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus with Rev. Fr. Cory D. Stanley presiding. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
