Obituary for James Albert Maddox
James Albert Maddox was born on July 27, 1912 in Joy, Texas. He died on March 28, 1990 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He married Muriel Vesti Gibbs in 1955 at Lone Oak, OK. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a resident of Jackson County since 1960, and was retired from Arkla Gas.
Survivors include: four daughters, Jo Ann Quick of Marrow, GA, Terry DeWeese of Dumas, TX, Becky Bennett of Amarillo, TX and Eva Deans of New Hampshire; two stepchildren, Vida Newberry of Midland, TX and Gerald Newberry of Seguine, TX; four grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ola Minton and Arline Goats of Dumas, TX, Francis Loftis of Bakersfield, CA, Lucy Floyd of Mena AR, Zona Heaton of Lemon Grove, CA; one brother, Robert Maddox of Panhandle, TX.
Services are scheduled for Friday, March 30, 1990 at the Tims Chapel of Memories at 2 P.M. Rev. Keith Wiginton will officiate. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
