James Bernard Hines died October 27th, 1964 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born in El Reno, Oklahoma May 1, 1918 and was a citizen of this community for the past 30 years. He married Willa Lee Caster January 29, 1927 and to this union three daughters: Linda Chisum, Kansas City, Missouri, Margie Hines of Altus, Oklahoma and Karen Hines of Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and one son, Jimmy Hines of Altus, Oklahoma were born. Bernard is survived by his wife, his children, his mother Mrs. C. R. Hines Sr., Aaheim, California, One brother, C. R. Hines Jr., North Hollywood, California and two sisters: Mrs. Stanley Teeters, Anaheim, California and Mrs. Beatrice Chamberlin of Long Beach California.
Bernard was a Veteran of World War 11, a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Elks Club and Country Club. and was very active in the Altus Chamber of Commerce.
Services are scheduled for Friday, October 30, 1964 at 2:30 P.M. at the Methodist Church with Rev. Owen Gragg and Dan English officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral home.
