James Zepeda, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2025, in Hollis, Oklahoma at the age of forty-three.
Born on January 2, 1983, in Hale Center, Texas, to James Zepeda and Mary Martinez. At an early age James' family moved to Hollis, Oklahoma. After completing his education, he moved to Mineral Wells, Texas; Vancouver, Washington; and Amarillo, Texas, leaving a legacy of kindness and connection wherever he went before ultimately returning to his hometown.
A man of deep devotion, James lived as a testament to God's grace, dedicating himself to ministry alongside his wife, Elisa. Whether through street evangelism, worship, or his powerful singing voice, he shared the love of Christ with everyone he met. James had a rare gift for encouragement, lifting others with his unwavering optimism, resilience, and steadfast trust in the Lord. His infectious energy and boundless love kept his family both inspired and on their toes.
James cherished his wife, adored his children, and embraced his role as a stay-at-home father, pouring patience and wisdom into not only his own family but also countless children in the community. Professionally, he worked in landscaping, roofing, and carpentry before finding fulfillment as a medical marijuana grower with Slow Burn-yet his true calling was always serving God and people.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Olga and Pete Zepeda; cousins, Kasey Cantu, Jacob Soto; an Aunt Mary Jane Pereth and father-in-law, Donald Watkins.
James leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife, Elisa Zepeda; his children, his children: Kiara, Malakii, Jaci, James II, Madison, and Addison Zepeda; his mother, Mary Martinez and Mario; father, James Esequiel Zepeda; siblings, Joseph Martinez, Adam Zepeda, Michael Zepeda , Isaac Zepeda, and Jacob Zepeda; sisters, Jackie Enriquez; Cassidy Martinez and Emma Martinez; his stepdaughter, Lyric Babin and husband Zack; granddaughter, Magnolia Babin; and.
Though his absence is deeply felt, James' family finds peace knowing he now joins the heavenly choir, forever praising the God he loved. His life of faith, service, and joy will be a testimony to a life dedicated to the Lord.
The Zepeda family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Harmon County Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. July 2, 2025 at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis, Oklahoma.
