Speedy was born on June 4, 1917 to Frank and Eula (Evins) Marshall on their farm northwest of Duke. He graduated from Duke School and continued his education at Central State University in Edmond. On December 31, 1949 Speedy married the love of his life, Jo Jackson. She preceded him in death in 1996, after he cared for her during failing health for many years. Speedy is survived by two sons, Matt Marshall of Duke, Oklahoma and Luke Marshall of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; one brother, Don Marshall and wife Vernie of Altus, Oklahoma and one sister, Hazel Darby of Altus, Oklahoma.
