James Herbert Briscoe of Altus, Oklahoma died December 25, 1966, at Memorial Hospital in Altus. He was born September 14, 1893 in Hess, Oklahoma to John and Taletha (Vicks) Briscoe. He married Euna Walker December 1915. He had retired form the Railroad in 1952,having been a resident of Altus all of his life.
Mr. Briscoe is survived by his wife, Euna of the home, sons Herbert Ray, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; James, of Altus, Oklahoma; Paul of Copentersville, Illinois; daughters, Dovie Ruth Bowman, Amarillo, Texas; ? Berry, Austin, Texas; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, I.J. Briscoe, Belen New Mexico; John Briscoe, Vinson, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs Tom Elliott, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs. R.C. Spraggins Beler, New Mexico.
Funeral services for Mr. James Briscoe are scheduled for Tuesday, December 27, 1966 in the Tims Chapel at 2:00pm with Joe Laird officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
