James Kellis Wright, age 65, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 18, 2014, at English Village Manor, in Altus.
Jimmy was born in Altus, Oklahoma on December 23, 1948, to James Marcus and Mary Edith (Hoover) Wright. A 1967 graduate of Altus High School, Jimmy graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a bachelor"s degree. Moving back to Altus, Jimmy began working as a carpenter, in the construction field and continued in that vocation for many years. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed drag racing, race cars and fishing.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Marcus Wright, in 2004, he is survived by his sister, Marilynn Wright of Altus and a special friend Patsy Henry of Altus.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Altus City Cemetery with George Dosher officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
