James L. Lamar, age 63, of Altus, Oklahoma died September 30, 1982 at his home in Altus.
James was born January 22, 1919 in Payne County, Oklahoma to Albert Leonard Lamar and Maree (Shafer) Lamar. He married Labeta Sulley June 30, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas. They had resided in Altus since 1969. James retired form the United States Air Force and then worked Civil Service for several years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Altus.
Funeral services for James L. Lamar are scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 1982 at 9:00 am in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. Keith Wiginton. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Coyle, Oklahoma, under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
James L. Lamar is survived by his wife, Labeta, of the home in Altus; four daughters, Gloria Lmar, Donna Tucker, Leah Nellis, Sheila Strawn, Midwest City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, mother, Maree Lamar, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister Gloria H. Lamar, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
