James Lloyd Johnson
James Lloyd Johnson,86, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at his home near Humphreys, Oklahoma.
Lloyd was born July 25, 1920 in a small framed house southeast of Altus, OK to C.E. and Myrtle Mae Stulls Johnson. He attended Humphreys Public School where he was the first of eight family children to graduate. He met Inerd Clifton at Humphreys' Ozark basketball game and they married on August 1, 1939 and remained married until her death more than 57 years later. Two sons were born out of the marriage: James Lynn Johnson and Michael Lee Johnson.
Born to an agriculture family, he continued to farm and raise cattle until his death. He also worked for Walsh, Watts & Williams and successor oil companies for over 60 years. He enjoyed life immensely and was passionate about spending time with family and friends. One of his greatest loves was fishing and hunting with his father, siblings sons, grandchildren. He established a family tradition by organizing over 45 hunting trips to Colorado and 20 fishing trips to Alaska. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a Scottish Rite 32-degree Mason for more than 55 years. He previously served on several boards including the Humphreys Coop and Southside school near Hess, Ok. He is survived by one son, Mike Johnson and his wife Brenda, of Falcon, CO; five grandchildren; Greg Johnson of Falcon, CO> Cassie Farr and husband Troy of Blair, Britt Johnson and wife, Suzy of Edmond, Chad Johnson and wife', Kelli of Wilson, and Trent Johnson and wife, Cindy of Littleton, CO; and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Myrtle Mae Johnson; two sisters, Jacqueline Jenkins of Springfield, MO, and Nela Gramling and husband T.L. of Altus, and three brothers, Donald Johnson and wife Helen of Bethany, Carl Johnson and wife Bonnie of Bethany, and Charles Johnson and wife Ilene of Fl.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Inerd; son, Lynn Johnson; father C.E.; and two sisters, Gleola Southern and Janette Jones.
