Obituary for James Ray Beach
James Ray Beach, age 82, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Monday, February 22, 1999 at Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton, Oklahoma. He was born January 28, 1917 at Elmer, Oklahoma to the late Monty and Cordie (Dobbs) Beach.
Ray graduated in 1935 at Elmer High School. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during WWII. He married Grace Muse November 2, 1945 at Vernon, Texas. Ray worked for the City of Altus, retiring as Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Departments. Ray was a longtime member of the Hess Baptist Church and Yell Dell Lodge.
Survivors include; his wife Grace of Altus, Oklahoma, two brothers, Lynn Beach and wife Pat also of Altus, Oklahoma, Tommy Beach and wife Jane of Elmer, Oklahoma, one sister, Nadine Coopwood and husband, Graves of Victorville, California and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Monty and Cordie Beach.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at 2:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Davis and Rev. Melvin Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Family will have visitation Tuesday, February 23, 1999 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
