Obituary for James William Peters
Mr. J.W. "Jim" Peters, age 96, long time resident of the Cooperton and Roosevelt Community, died last night at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of Altus for the past 11 years.

Born in Arkansas, most of his life was spent in Kiowa County in the retail merchandising business in Cooperton and Roosevelt. His wife, the former Edna Alice Clark died in 1919.

Graveside rites will be held in Springhill Cemetery, Wednesday at 11:00 A.M., officiated by the Reverend Gerald Peters, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Carnegie, OK.

Survivors include: three daughters; one brother; four sisters; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
