Jay Lemire, 70 year old Duke, Oklahoma resident, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Jay was born November 25, 1948 to Arthur Lemire and Edna Lile in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was raised by his step father Robert Kendrick and his mother Edna Lile Kendrick in the Glencoe area, and graduated high school from there in 1967. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in Vietnam for two tours. Upon returning home he began working for the Ford Motor company working up to Part Manager. He retired after working for Ford for over 35 years. Jay could quote the parts number off any Ford Part. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, guns, and Ford, but most of all he loved the Lord and his family. His family describes him as a stubborn, ornery man who had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others in need.
Jay is survived by his three children; Christi and Carl Vick, Jami and Eddie Summers, and Jeremy and Cassie Lemire; three brothers Willie Kendrick, Patrick Kendrick, and Leslie Lile; sister Jane Frankenfield nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his, Dad, Robert Kendrick, ,Mom, Edna Lile Kendrick, brothers Don Kendrick, Sparky Kendrick, Robert Kendrick and Jimmy Paul Lemire.
The Lemire family willing be holding private family services.
