Jess M. Hukill., 90, died Saturday, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for Monday, at 2:00pm at the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard McDole. Arrangements are with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Jess Hukill was born August 23, 1902 in Whitesboro, Texas to James M. & Mollie E. Hukill. They moved to Russell, Oklahoma in 1910. He married Irene C. Smith in Altus on December 24, 1935. They moved to Altus in 1938 and have resided here ever since.

Jess was employed at Wilson & Company as an engineer for 15 years. When the plant closed he started to work for the Altus Public Schools and was custodian at Will Rogers school for 27 years retiring in 1982 due to ill health.

He was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, joining in 1942. He served as a Deacon and in several Sunday School teaching positions .

Survivors include his wife Irene C. Hukill of Altus, children, Mary and Richard McDole of Altus, Oklahoma; sister, Odessa Ketchersid of Bethany, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Richard McDole Jr. of El Paso, Texas; Debbie Thompson of Rosenberg, Texas; Tim McDole of Durmmond, Oklahoma; Craig McDole of Altus, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Jeremy & Kevin Thompson of Rosenberg, Texas; Kyle and Kristopher McDole of El Paso, Texas.

Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Maggie Collier & Willie Holloman.
