Jesse Lee Newman was born March 29, 1925 at Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late James Oliver and Martha Newman. he died September 2, 1995 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He married Margaret Elizabeth Newman and she preceded him in death in 1989. He married Jessie Gayle Walker, May 14, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had been a resident of Altus and Jackson County since 1993. He was active in farming and ranching. He was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saint.
Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday at the LDS. Officiating will be Rev. Carl McCoy. Interment will follow in Prescott Valley, Arizona at the Williams Cemetery. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include spouse, Jesse Gayle of the home; children, Joyce Loree Sawyer and Fred of Alaska; Elizabeth Ann Cherry and Don of Prescott, Arizona; brother, J.A. Newman of Price, Utah; sister Otella Graham of Alma, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-children; Kenneth Wayne Newman, Chesapeak, Va.; Debra Gayle Newman of Altus, Oklahoma; Ella Mae Adams of Naches, Washington.
Preceded in death by parents, one sister, Jewel Welborn, first wife, Margaret Elizabeth Newman, 1989, two brothers, Kenneth and Billy G. Newman.
