Jesus G. (Jessie) Marcele"o, Jr., 65, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2014, at his residence, in Altus.
Jessie was born June 6, 1949, to Jesus Marcele"o Sr. and Placida (Gutierrez) Marcele"o in Odessa, Texas. Jessie answered "the Call" and served his Country with two tours in Vietnam from March 1969 thru March 1970 and Sept. 1970 thru Aug. 1971. Jessie also served in Fort Hood, Texas and in Baden-Wuertt, Germany. His awards included National Defense Medal, Asian Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with service star and Good Conduct medal. He was a Disabled Veteran and a "jack of all trades". His favorite pastime was "hanging with friends" and telling war stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, InosentaRosales; six brothers, Inez, Miguel, Juan, Severano, Manuel and Macario Marcele"o. Survivors include a sister, Juliana Benibamonde, Kansas; a brother, Cruz Marcele"o of Florida and many nieces and nephews and his best "Buddy" of 50 years, Stanley Harrelson.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tim"s Funeral Home. Online tributes may be made to the family at www.Lowell-Tims.com
