Obituary for Jimmy Max Allison
Jimmy Max Allison was born July 15th, 1934 south of Gould, Oklahoma to Joe C. and Fern (Morris) Allison. Jimmy left his earthy home for his heavenly home on October 11th, 2020.
Jimmy attended school at Lacasa until the 6th grade before transferring to Gould where he graduated in 1952.
Jimmy married Chloetta Hooks daughter of Charlie "Chock" Hooks and Evelyn (Massey) Hooks on January 19th, 1952 in Wellington, Texas. Jimmy and Chloetta were married sixty eight years..
Except for the early years, Jimmy made his living on farm related endeavors. He farmed and did custom combining and managed the Busy Corner service station for several years. He later made his professional reputation as a diesel mechanic. He kept the farm machinery humming for many years. After he retired and was no longer able to do the heavy work related to tractor mechanics he went to work for Harmon County.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Fern Morris Allison; a sister Peggy Joe Allison; granddaughter, Dee Ann Clement; his father in law Charlie Hooks; mother in law, Evelyn Hooks and son-in-law Charles Paxton.
He is survived by his wife Chloetta Allison of the home; four daughters, Donna Lane and husband Mike of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Pamela Hubanks of Noble, Oklahoma, Jeri Paxton and Todd Shelby of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Sheri White and husband Brent of Hollis, Oklahoma, Nine grandchildren, fifteen great - grandchildren, and one great-great grand daughter Sister, Jane Baker of Amarillo, Texas; two Brothers, Lemuel Allison and wife Barbara of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bob Allison and wife Betty of Amarillo, Texas; and a special friend Barclay.
Come and go visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 15th, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at Fairmount Cemetery, services with Pastor Don Altom officiating. Donations may be made to the Fairmount Cemetery Committee at Care of Great Plains Bank at 120 Jones, Hollis, Oklahoma 73550.
