Obituary for Jo Ann Green
Jo Ann Green age 75 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 7, 1999 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was born August 28, 1924 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to Fowler and Emily (Crosby) Maynord.
On March 23, 1946 in Vernon, Texas Jo Ann and William E. Green were united in marriage. He preceded her in death December 24, 1955. Jo Ann worked for over twenty years at Arkla Gas Company retiring in 1985. After her retirement Jo Ann Volunteered as a Gray Lady at Altus Air Force Base for 12 years. She was a member of the women's Auxillary at the VFW Post 4876 serving in various offices. Jo Ann was a longtime member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. Jo Ann was involved in various Church activities and especially the Church's youth program, children's Sunday school, and various activities that included serving those in need.
Jo ann is survived by her son and daughter in law, Rick and Rodette Green, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, her 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Todd and Deborah Green of Stillwater, and Staci and Cary Cozby of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and her three great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Tallie, and Reid Green all of Stillwater. In addition, Jo Ann has a brother billy Ray Maynord of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and a sister, Mrs. Dawn Pappe of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and nieces and nephews including Jackie and Gene Wilkinson of Del City, Oklahoma, Jo Vonna Maynord of Midwest City, Donna Jo Thomas of Kingfisher, Anita and Mike Hoskin of Atlanta Georgia, Jerry and Darlene Maynord of Midwest City, Johnny and Linda Pappe of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Charles and April Pappe of Kingfisher, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Fowler Otis Maynord and Emily Maynord, and her husband William E. Green.
Celebration of Life Service for Jo Ann Green is scheduled for Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at 11:00am at Elm and Hudson Church of Christ with Bill Osborne officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ youth program in memory of Jo Ann Green.
