Lil’ Red (Joanne Roberts)
Joanne Spike - Roberts, 85, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away November 9, 2020, in Altus, Oklahoma.
Joanne Roberts brought her clowning skills to the children and children-at-heart in Altus as Lil’ Red the Clown for over 15 years. She was trained by Ringling Brothers in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, and was a professional clown for 26 years.
Her bright red hats, brightly painted face and jovial presence at local restaurants and children’s birthday parties made her a local favorite and famous in her own right. Joanne had a determination and love for helping others and she expressed that through her time and talent.
Joanne’s advice to us all, “Don’t act your age, just do what you think is right and accept living life to your fullest.” That she did!
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, in Altus, Oklahoma.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
