Obituary for John A. Richardson
John A. Richardson, age 86, long time resident of Eldorado, died Monday, December 4th, 1989, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services have been set for Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado officiated by Rev. Homer Williams. Rev. Kenneth Coleman and Rev. Elbert Shumaker will assist. Burial will be in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Richardson was born March 10th, 1903 in Harmon County. He attended Purvis Hill Schools moving to Eldorado in 1942. He married Virgie Wood February 12, 1924 in Eldorado. He was an active member of the Lions Club and a supporter of many FFA projects. Richardson owned and operated several businesses in the Eldorado area to include grain elevators, feed store, Lowell-Richardson Funeral Chapel and the Eldorado Ambulance Service until his retirement.

Survivors include: his wife, Virgie Richardson of the home; one son, Carroll Richardson of Lubbock, TX; one daughter, Joy Nell Freeman of Eldorado; one sister, Sallie Belle Harkins of Eldorado; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sons, Hardy Ray Richardson and John Doyle Richardson preceded him in death.
