Obituary for John E. Beard
john E. Beard age 89, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 4, 1999 at Quartz Mt. Care Center. He was born December 10, 1910 at Chicago, Illinois to the late John Palmer Beard and Ada Leota (Steward) Beard.
He entered the United States Army December 1, 1941 and served during WWII and was later discharged November 13, 1945. He had lived in the Altus area since 1969 moving here from Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Baptist Church and American Legion.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 7, 1999 at 10:00am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include one brother, Victor Beard and wife Alina, of San Francisco, California, three nephews, Larry Beard, Neal Groves, Earl Groves, two nieces Sylvia Pable and husband Jack of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Rita beard of Colorado and a host of other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister.
