John Franklin Parmer
Frank Parmer was born June 22, 1929, in Breckenridge, Texas. He was the son of the late John F. Parmer, Sr. and Thirza (Wicker) Parmer. He died December 30, 2012, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Frank graduated for Mangum High School in 1947. He received a BA and MA from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. He married his wife Phyllis Harris June 1, 1948, in Seminole, Oklahoma. After teaching for several years, he purchased the Dr Pepper Bottling Company in Mangum in 1962. In 1963 he was named the #1 Dr Pepper Bottler in the entire world. After his retirement, he moved to Altus in March of 1989. Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Mason of the Mangum Lodge. He loved photography, guns and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Parmer of the home in Altus, two daughters, Libby Smith and her husband Clint of Sanger, Texas; Kathy Shaull and her husband Keith of Anadarko, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Beth Shaull of Stillwater and one grandson, Evan Shaull, of Anadarko, Oklahoma.
Services for Frank Parmer are scheduled for Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Lowell-Tims Chapel officiated by Dr. Jeff Moore and Rev. J. V. Lobaugh. Interment will be at 2:00 pm in the Riverside Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
The family will greet friends Wednesday, January 2. 2013 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 6:30 until 7:30 pm. Arrangements under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
