John Henry Gallagher, 67, of Altus died Tuesday at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
The Vigil will be held Thursday at 7:30 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel at 100 East Tamarack, with the Funeral Mass to be held at officiated by Father John Metzinger. Burial will be in Navajoe Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Gallagher was born April 7, 1923 at Sparks, Oklahoma. He was the son of John and Nora Gallagher. He was in the Army Air Corps in both World War II and Korea where he attained the rank of Staff Sgt. He graduated from Oklahoma University School of Business in 1949. He married Bobbie Comp November 14, 1945 in Venice, California They moved to Altus 35 years ago from Oklahoma City. He was a former member of the Elks Club and member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one brother, William Gallagher, one sister Margaret Pape and twin grandsons.

Survivors include his wife Bobbie Comp Gallagher of the home, seven children, Joan Graham and her husband Richard; John H. Gallagher Jr. and his wife Judie; Anne Alton and her husband James; James L. Gallagher and his wife Tonya; Helen Scott and her husband Carl; Robert T. Gallagher and his wife Montica; Patrick B. Gallagher and his wife Bonnie; one brother, James W. Gallagher of Norman, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mary B. Reyman, of Oklahoma City and Nora Ellen Huntington of Norman, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren and a father-in-law Prof L.A. Comp of Norman, Oklahoma also survive.
