Obituary for John Huston "Curley" Mathis
John Huston "Curley" Mathis, age 64, died Friday at Lawton Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at Lowell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Witt officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born May 10th, 1919 in Clay County, Tennessee, Mathis had lived in Jackson County for many years. Before his retirement he was employed as a taxi driver and was owner/operator of a television repair and salvage service.
Survivors are: his wife, Ellen Turner Mathis, of the home; his mother, Della Maud Jamison of Roswell, NM; two sons, John Mathis of Great Falls, Montana and George Mathis of Kisse, TX; three step-children, William Turner of Omaha, NE, Ramond Turner of Burns Flat, OK and Barbara Turner of Altus, OK; a brother, Bill Mathis of Roswell, NM; 11 grandchildren.
Also surviving are several children reared in the Mathis home, including Jack, Leroy, Peggy and JoAnn McClum.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society through Lowell Funeral Home.
