Obituary for John Melvin Cox
Mr. John Melvin Cox, age 64, of 522 E. Commerce and resident of Altus since 1955, died Wednesday morning at Western State Hospital.

Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Friday at Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Hoyett Lemmon. Burial will be at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born October 22nd, 1909 at Stonewall, OK, he was married in 1945 to the former Fern Neeley who survives of the home. He was a retired movie projectionist and a member of the Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include: his Mother, Mrs. Effie Cox of Altus; one son, Jerry Cox of Altus; two step-daughters, Mrs. Betty Reed of Martha and Mrs. Joy Stauffer of Bethany, OK; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
