John R. Jackson age 84, of Altus, Oklahoma died June 28, 1982, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
John was born January 9, 1898 in Georgia to John Franklin Jackson. He married Elva Lou Portwood June, 18 1930. in Lawton, Oklahoma. John served during World War I in the Army. Navy and Marines. He was a member of the American Legion and Masons. John had been a resident of Altus since 1942.
Funeral services for John R. Jackson are scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, 1982 at 10:00 am in the Presbyterian Church, Altus, officiated by Dr. Pat Kennedy, Dean Robinson and Keith Wiginton. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
John R. Jackson is survived by his wife, Elva of the home in Altus; one son Raymond Jackson, Snyder, Oklahoma; one daughter, Mary Jackson, Altus; one sister, Annie Miller, Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two granddaughter, Angela Benson, Hawaii, Diane Jackson, Columbus, Ohio.
