John Troy Doughten was born June 21st, 1921 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Ed and Nora (Smith) Doughten. He passed from this life April 3rd, 1969 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. J. T. married Mary R. Burge on May 10, 1947 in Childress, Texas. They have lived in Olustee, Oklahoma for the last 19 years.

J. T. was a member of the Olustee Church of Christ, was a farmer by trade and a veteran of World War 11.

Mr. Doughten is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home in Olustee, Oklahoma, two sons: Willie E. "Pat" Doughten and John Troy Doughten Jr., both of Olustee, Oklahoma and three daughters: Mrs. Mary Evelyn Gillis, Karen Dale Doughten and Kathy Gale Doughten all of the home in Olustee, Oklahoma. Also surviving in one grandchild, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Doughten of Eldorado, Oklahoma, one brother, Lloyd Doughten of Eldorado, Oklahoma; four sisters: Mrs. Joe Gober of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mrs. H. H. Gober of Altus, Oklahoma, Mrs. M. J. Webster of Cisne, Illinois and Mrs. J. L. Burge of Amarillo, Texas.

Services for John Troy Doughten are scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, 1969 at 2:30 P. M. at the Olustee Church of Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Osborne officiating and Lavega Parker Assisting. Interment will follow at the Olustee Cemetery, Olustee, Oklahoma under the direction of Tims Funeral Home. Instead of flowers contributions may be made to the Cancer Fund.
