John Wesley Bowden age 79, of Olustee, Oklahoma died at his home May 28, 1966. He was born December 28, 1886 in Coldwater, Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. John Bowden. He moved to the Altus area in 1922. He married January 26, 1910 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a deacon at the Prairie Hill First Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Bowden are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, May 30 1966 at the Prairie Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Chadwick, Rev. Noel George and Rev. Delbert Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Bowden is survived by his wife of the home in Olustee, Oklahoma; one son, Aubrey Bowden of Olustee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Mrs. Roy Wilburn, Hollis, Oklahoma; Mrs. Eddie Black, Chickasha, Oklahoma; Wesley D. Bowden Olustee, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren; one brother Melvin Bowden, Coldwater, Mississippi.
