Obituary for Johnnie Boyd Groves
Johnnie Boyd Groves, 63, passed away Monday, June 27th, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Altus, Oklahoma to Rinda Aileen and Harley Lee Groves on Autust 1, 1947. Johnnie attended Washington Elementary and was employed by Southwest Enterprise and Tumbleweeds for the past 30 years.

Johnnie loved participating in the Special Olympics, softball throw being his favorite. He loved listening to his record player and dancing, as well as taking care of his dogs.

He is survived by four brothers, David Lee Groves and wife Vea of Houston, Texas, Bobby Gene Groves of Altus, Oklahoma, Donnie Fred Groves and wife Loretta of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Lonnie Floyd Groves and wife Dean of Purcell, Oklahoma; two sisters, Nancy JoAnn Thomas and husband Jackie of Altus and Karen Kay Jones of San Antonio, Texas; eight nephews; six nieces; and a host of others relatives and friends.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 9:00 am, Friday, July 1, 2011 at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family will receive guests at Lowell-Tims on Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 pm.
