Johnnie Dave Ervin, age 94, of Mangum was born June 19, 1920, to Arthur E. and Ethel (Phillips) Spracklen in Weatherford, Texas. Early in her childhood the family moved to Lake Creek, Oklahoma to farm. She attended the Lake Creek School finishing her senior year at Hobart, Oklahoma while attending beauty school at the same time. She met the love of her life, Glen Ervin, and was married on April 4, 1939. They moved to Mangum, Oklahoma where she worked as a beautician, retiring to raise their four children. After they were raised she went back to work as a cook for the Mangum Public Schools and the Oklahoma Farmers Union summer camps.
She is survived by her four children: Grace Williams-McCormick, Hobart, Ok, Melvin Ervin and wife Menia, Port Aransas, Tx, Kae Buller and husband Lonnie of OKC, Ok and Jack Ervin and wife Dana, Yukon, Ok.; Grandchildren: Kelly and Becky Williams, Shannon and Andy Edmondson, Jeff and Michelle Buller, Kristie and Clarence Criton, Jerry and Kristine Ervin and Jonathan Ervin; Great Grandchildren: Krystal Williams, Shelby and Joel Richardson, Kya Buller, Ethan Nguyen, Katelyn Nguyen and Stephen Criton; Great- Great Grandchildren: Liviah Grace Williams and Raelyn Hope Richardson. A sister Betty Durham and husband Ken of Oregon and daughter in-law Peggy Ervin. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, parents, 3 sisters, Arthel, Laura and Ruby and 2 son in-laws, Jim and Dale.
Funeral services for Johnnie Ervin will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
