Obituary for Johnny E. Blassingame

Services for Johnny E. Blassingame will be held Thursday, March 12, 1992 at 2 P.M. at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton and Father James Mahan officiating. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery, with full military honors, under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Johnny E. Blassingame was born March 31st, 1929 at Texarkana, Arkansas. He died March 9th, 1992 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He lived in Eastern Oklahoma during his early years. In 1939 he moved to Galveston, TX and was a graduate of Ball High in Galveston. He married Mary Chupp August 24, 1948 in Galveston. He began a 25-year Military career with the USAF in 1950. He served at McChord AFB, Sheppard AFB, Germany, Amarillo AFB, Sonderstrom Greenland, Goose Bay, Labrador, and retired from Altus AFB in 1975. While employed at WOSC, he received a degree in Law Enforcement and continued his service until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by: his Father, Lonnie Blassingame; his sister, Helen Blassingame.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Blassingame of the home in Altus, OK; his Mother, Betty Blassingame of Ft. Worth, TX; three children, Walter Blassingame of Nashville, TN, Debbie Aungst and Kimi Sayer, both of Altus, OK; two brothers, Lonnie Blassingame of Ft. Worth, TX and Tom Blassingame of Plano, TX; one sister, Mary Dupree of Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren, Nikki Blassingame of Nashville, TN, Johnny Blassingame of Belleville, IL, Kenny Aungst, Jr. of Altus, OK, Becca Aungst, Dustin and Spencer Sayre, all of Altus, OK.
