Johnny Paul Sanchez, age 64, of Altus, passed away early Saturday morning, August 20, 2016, at his residence, in Altus.
Mr. Sanchez was born on December 14, 1951, in Munday, Texas, to Tino and Lorraine (Lechuga) Sanchez and moved to Altus as a small child. After completing school he began working construction and worked as a carpenter all of his life. On February 14, 1974, he married Maria Christine Garza and they spent the next forty-two wonderful years together.
Preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Iberra and two brothers, Domingo Sanchez and Joe Sanchez, he is survived by his father, Tino Sanchez of Altus; his wife, Chris of the home; four children, Michele Barker and husband Jon of Lincoln, Maine, Timothy Scott Sanchez of Clinton, Oklahoma, Craig Sanchez and wife Robyn of Altus and James John Sanchez of Altus; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Kassandra, Tyler, Cole, Timothy Paul, Taylor, James Robert, Michelle Elizabeth and Jessica; two great grandchildren, David James and Evelyn Denise; two sisters, Lupe Harris of Altus and Sylvia Beckum of Arkansas; three brothers, Louis Sanchez of Wichita Falls, Texas, Gilbert Sanchez of Wichita Falls, Texas and Tommy Sanchez of Altus along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Johnny Paul Sanchez will be on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
