Joseph Early Black age 76, of Altus, Oklahoma, died December 30, 1982 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Joseph was born June 13, 1906 in Sayre, Oklahoma to George and Lea (Adcock) Black. He married Mary Myrtle Simpson July 10, 1935 in Altus. Joseph worked for Altus Public Schools for the past 17 years. He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma for the past 20 years.
Funeral services for Joseph Early Black are scheduled for Friday, December 31, 1982 at 3:00 pm in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. Hoyett Lemmon and Rev. C. L. Abercrombie. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Granite, Oklahoma under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Joseph Early Black is survived by his wife, Myrtle of the home; six sons Lloyd Black, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Wayne Black, Odessa, Texas; Max Black, Amarillo, Texas; Rodney Black; Amarillo, Texas, Jerry Black, Odessa, Texas; Gary Black, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Waua McClellan, Altus, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Black, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Effie Kenmore, Altus, Oklahoma; Bertie Crain, Haskell, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
