Millie Martin
Millie Martin was born September 1, 1910 at Elmer, Oklahoma. He died November 15, 1993 in Altus, Oklahoma. He married Betty Vinyard Altus, Oklahoma. Millie served with the Seabees and US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer during World War II. Upon leaving the service he entered the Construction business. Later he owned and operated Martins Ace Hardware until his retirement. He was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Marion Martin. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
Services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Michel D'Annecy officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Millie is survived by his wife Betty of Altus, Oklahoma; children, Bettychene Frank and husband Donald of Altus, Oklahoma; Millie JO Morris and husband Pat, of Altus, Oklahoma; Barbara Ellis and husband Bennie of Norman, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Tamara Davis, Donell Frank, Pam Bean, Gay Anderson, Joel Scott White, Elmer Morris, Bennie Ellis Jr., Kevin Ellis, and Bradley Ellis.
Millie was preceded in death by parents, and five brother and sisters.
