Obituary for Joyce Cass Walker Goddard
Joyce Cass Walker Goddard, age 62, passed away Friday, October 18th, 2002 at English Village Manor. She was born on August 23, 1940 in Altus, Oklahoma to Cass P. Walker and Lillian (Taylor) Walker.
Joyce married John Goddard on April 15 or 16, 1961. As a family joke, Joyce and John always disagreed on the day they were married. Joyce lived her entire life in Altus. She worked at Georgia's Cafe on the square as a teenager. Joyce and John owned F&M TV for many years. She enjoyed going to the Friendship Inn twice daily to meet her friends. She enjoyed Bingo and loved keeping up with her family and grandkids.
She is survived by one daughter, Eileen Cofield and husband Brent of Altus, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Kent, Chad and John Robert, all of Altus, Oklahoma. She is also survived by three sisters, June Joyner of Fort Worth, Texas, Betty Carter and husband Jr. and Gayle Newman both of Altus, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Goddard.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Joyce Goddard will greet friends Sunday, October 20, 2002 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
