Kimberly Dawn Briscoe, age 45, of Quanah, Texas, passed away January 4, 2017, at her residence, in Quanah.
Kim was born on April 13, 1971, in Altus, Oklahoma to Kenneth Dale and Mary Lorene (Hester) Briscoe. Beginning school at Southside, she graduated from Eldorado, as the salutatorian, in 1989. During the next few years Kim furthered her education at Tulsa Community College and Western Oklahoma State College before completing cosmetology school and working at Ahead of Times. In 1994, Kim moved to Quanah and shortly thereafter began cooking at restaurants in Quanah, until her health began to fail in November 2015. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing and listening to music.
Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth James Briscoe, she is survived by her two sons, Loyd Briscoe of Quanah and Chance Story of Quanah; two grandchildren, Kathleen Story and Suzanna Story; two sisters, Sherri Schweigert and husband Eric of Abilene, Texas and Sharon Ray and husband Jimmy of Quanah; two brothers, Terry Cole of Quanah and Dr. Gary Cole and wife Terri of Stillwater; a special sister, Martha Nelson and a special friend and companion, Sam Ward of Quanah along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Kim Briscoe will be at 2 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2017, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, of Altus. Interment will follow at the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, of Altus.
