Obituary for L. J. Lenard
L. J. Lenard, 80, years old passed away January 1, 2019 in Altus, Oklahoma. L.J. was born in Madisonville, Texas to W.T. Lenard and Lee Aster (Cooper) Lenard. He attended school in Tipton and Frederick, Oklahoma. In 1961, He joined the United States Army serving in the infantry division. L. J. served two tours in Vietnam. While in the Army he married Bernice, after leaving the Army he moved to Oklahoma City where he worked at numerous car dealerships. He returned to Altus, Oklahoma working at Howard Smith Mazda and the Altus Air Force base working in maintenance. He loved to hunt, fish, shoot pool and he had an infinity for fast cars. His family has described him as a quiet man, with an open mind. He loved to laugh and cut up with his family and friends. He was always friendly and never met a stranger. He loved his friends and family with a deep passion that held no bounds.
He is survived by his three children, Tim Lenard, Jason Lenard, Kaitlin Lenard, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters; Wilma and Geraldine; brothers; John, Benjamin, James and Roy.
L.J. was preceded in death by his father, W.T. Lenard, mother, Lee Aster (Cooper) Lenard, sisters; Ada Lee Lenard, Beth Ann Lenard, and Wanda Lenard, brothers; J.T. Lenard, and Loyd Lenard.
