L. J. Alexander was born November 25, 1919 in Dangerfield, Texas to Elige and Minnie Mae (Heath) Alexander. He worked for the Altus City Sanitation Department and was a member of the Church of God In Christ. L. J. served his county during World War II.
Funeral services for L. J. Alexander are scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 1982 in Tims Chapel of Memories at 2:00 pm. officiated by Elder Willie Wilson. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

Alexander is survived by his wife, Arzella of the home in Altus; two brothers, Issac Alexander, Altus, Oklahoma; Bennie Lee Alexander, Altus, Oklahoma; three sisters, Era Mae Black, Altus, Oklahoma; Ida M. Smith, San Antonio, Texas; Ruby Lee Watts, Long Beach, California; fifteen nephews, twenty-two nieces, a host of other relatives and friends.
