Obituary for L.V. Walker
L. V. Walker born March 22, 1908 at Granite, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Russie Rotan. She died December 16, 1999 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. L.V. married Eugene Walker November 13, 1927 at Mangum, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death April 26, 1980.
L.V. was a long time resident of Altus, Jackson County and Greer County. She graduated from Ozark High School and ten received her Bachelors Degree of Science from Southwestern State College. She taught school for 47 years. She taught at Stoney Point, Red Hill, Duke, and in the Altus School System until she retired from Eugene Field. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and worked as a volunteer at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital for over 18 years. She was a long time member of the 1st United Methodist Church where she was a very active member and was a member of the U M W.
Survivors include one brother, George Rotan of Altus, Oklahoma, one nephew, Bruce and Donna Rotan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one niece Cherry and Rev. Bob Johns of Lawton Oklahoma, great nieces and nephews, Kellie Rotan of Edmond, Oklahoma, Gena Hamilton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rex Nichols of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers Clyde, R.B. and Joe Rotan.
Services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday December 20, 199 at the 1st United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Pate and Rev. Bob Johns officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.
Memorials in honor of L.V. Walker may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church Building Fund.
