Larnetta McGee, age 90 of Oklahoma City and formerly of Altus, passed away Thursday evening, November 24, 2016 at Grace Living Center in Oklahoma City.
Larnetta was born in Lawton on February 11, 1926 to her parents Charlie and Ivy (Govan) Taplin. She grew up in Texas and in her 30"s moved to Altus where she worked at the Altus Air Force Base with the billeting department. She later moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her family. Larnetta was a longtime member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Altus and she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family was always dear to her heart.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emitt McGee in 1985; her husband Jerry Hamilton in 2005; her daughter, Anna Lisa Jones; four brothers, Charles, Alfred, Larry, and Bobby Hill; three sisters, Jeweline Hill; Shirley Hill; and Pearlie Mae Booker; her grandson, Adrian Weaver; and granddaughter, Shantay Mitchell; Larnetta is survived by three sons, Mack Nelson and wife Bessie of Honey Grove, Texas; Michael McGee and wife Annetta of Grant, Oklahoma; and Kevin McGee and wife Allister of San Antonio; one daughter, Larwetta McGee of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mona Hill of Altus; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Pastor Dewayne Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory of Altus.
