Laura Jane Schlecht, age 93, of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, April 24th, 2002 at Woodview Nursing Home in Ardmore.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Restlawn Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating.
She was born May 1, 1908 in Wise County, Texas to James Richard and Hattie May (King) Pounds. She married Albert John Schlecht on September 23, 1926 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She
worked for civil service at Altus Air Force Base until her retirement. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge in Altus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, husband and one son.
She is survived by one son, Robert James and wife Joyce of Madill, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Shirley Conner and husband Loyd of Blair, Oklahoma, LaQuita Blankenship and husband Hank of Centralia, Missouri and Brenda Steely of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one great-great grandson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
