Laura Sadler age 92, of Altus, passed away September 30, 2013 in Altus, Oklahoma.

Laura was born on August 21, 1921 in Hill City, South Dakota to Frank and Clara Josephine Olsen Brandt. She graduated from St. Paul Central High School in St. Paul, MN in 1940. She married Earnest L. Sadler in Hess in 1943. She lived in Washington D. C., where she worked for the Civil Service Department until moving to California, where her husband was stationed. Eventually the couple moved to Oklahoma, spending 10 years in the Oklahoma City area before settling in Southwest, Oklahoma communities of Friendship and later Altus.

She was a homemaker and cake decorator. A member of First Baptist Church of Altus, she was active in the Prayer Ministry, WMU and the English as a Second Language program. For several years she worked as a Pink Lady at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Laura was well traveled as well. She and her husband traveled all the United States in their RV. Later in life she traveled abroad to places like Chile, Egypt, Malawi and Israel.

A devout Christian, Laura enjoyed studying her Bible, teaching her international ladies class and early morning walks around the reservoir. She was quick with a smile and seemed to always have an encouraging word for anyone who needed it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and an infant granddaughter.

Survivors include four children; Clara Cromer and her husband Mike of Little Rock, AR, Thomas Sadler and his wife Denice of Altus, OK, Ruth Ann Hoover and husband Marlin of Frederick, OK, and Sara Kubina and her husband Guy of Sheridan, IN; one sister, Lucille Bills of Long Prairie, MN; 10 grandchildren, Adam Harris and his wife Mary of Houston, TX, Amanda Hardin and her husband Chuck of Jonesboro, AR, Randy Sadler and his wife Amanda of Boulder, CO, Jodi Sadler of Norman, OK, Haley Hoover of Frederick, OK, Grant Hoover of Frederick, OK, Margaret Kubina of Upland, IN, Jonathan Kubina of Indianapolis, IN, Samuel Kubina of Carmel, IN and Rachel Kubina of Sheridan, IN; one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Carrington and her husband Jason of Conway, AR; four great-grandchildren, Elinor and Virginia Harris of Houston, TX, and Tate and Henry Hardin of Jonesboro, AR: and two step-great grandchildren, Jake and Jenna Carrington of Conway, AR.

Visitation is set for 6:30 " 7:30 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 2:00 pm in the Lowell-Tims Chapel, officiated by Doug Altom.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Neal, Lynn Neal, Roger Allen, and Earl Booker, David Shultz and Frank Coy.

Memorials can be made to Francis Cemetery c/o 1st National Bank or First Baptist Church Prayer Ministry.
